As my children come of age during this Great Recession, I sometimes whimsically remember things that were before the current economic mess:

Do you remember when banks used to lend money to businesses?

Do you remember when you could get more than a 2% return on your money at banks?

Do you remember when your 401K use to increase in value?

Do you remember when you could get a mortgage even if you had a credit score of less than 720?

Do you remember when you used to send invoices to your clients and they send you a check without you having to follow up a few times with phone calls?

Do you remember when you could shake hands or hug someone without fear of the swine flu?

Do you remember when you didn’t have to check to see if you had hand sanitizer before you left the house?

Do you remember those mornings with the $5 Starbucks double lattes?

What do you remember before the Great Recession?
