What is Your Personal Brand?
I had the fortunate opportunity to interview Dan Schawbel, on his new book, Me 2.0: Build a Powerful Brand to Achieve Career Success (Kaplan; April 2009). He is the leading personal branding expert for Gen-Y. BusinessWeek considers Dan to be “a leading voice in the area of personal branding.” Fast Company calls Dan a “personal branding force of nature” and Entrepreneur calls Dan a “Gen-Y branding expert.” Currently, he serves as EMC Corporations first social media specialist.
I wanted to talk with Dan because these days with all the social media and the web, we each are responsible for our own brand. No longer are we just trying to build the brand of our company or product, but our own personal brand, follows us wherever we go. We talked about what is a personal brand, how to build one and protect it.
