Will Harris

I met Will Harris at an agriculture conference I spoke at in Nashville. I am from the North and he is from the South. We could barely understand each other.

Will is a full-time cattleman in rural Georgia. His family has raised cattle on the same farm for 140 years, and his daughters are the fifth generation to do so. His land, his family, and his herd comprise what is important to Will, and they are his religion. Will learned the scientific way of raising cattle while majoring in animal science at the University of Georgia. He learned to administer artificial hormone implants, confinement-feed unnaturally high carbohydrate diets, utilize sub-therapeutic levels of antibiotics, and to use many of the other tools of the industrialized meat production system. He has since returned to the stockman approach that he learned from his father and grandfather and now produces White Oak Pastures all-natural grass-fed beef.

If you are interested in learning more about proper production of food, you can visit the White Oak Pastures web site. As Will says, we don’t sell anything, it’s just educational!
