Need PR? The Wit and Wisdom of Dan Janal

November 12, 2009 Business 1 Comment

dan_janal_leftWe all get alot of emails to join conference calls. I received one the other day from Dan Janal of PR LEADS about a call he was having. PR LEADS  helps more than 4,000 business experts, solo PR firms, and small businesses. I met Dan years ago at a National Speakers Association Conference and was very impressed with him. Here is some words of wisdom Dan had on the call today (some I am paraphrasing) and what my echo is:

Dan: Done is better than perfect. Me: Everything is a work in progress. Perfect is just an excuse.

Dan: No one cares about the book, only the hook. Me: Drop the ego, truly, why would anyone buy your book today?

Dan: Marketing is just a series of tests. Me: Seeing what works is as important as seeing what fails. Spend wisely.

Dan: Most people don’t buy on the first time they are asked. Me: You can’t sell anything to anybody, you need to be there when people are ready to buy.

Dan: When the tide goes out, you can really see who is swimming naked. Me: Yep, during tough times, there are no pretenders.
