What Bugs Can Teach Us About Management

Maybe its the 11 days I spent at vacation at the beach this past week that has me thinking alot about bugs. Or maybe its the books I am reading, Enders Game and Speaker For The Dead. Or maybe its the article I read in Wired magazine this past month about how bugs use management strategies. Many bugs like ants and bees can transmit “whole group communications” which actually improve group efficiency by giving “everyone access to information and letting them to decide how best to act on it”. The internet and other electronic information tools have made it easier for us to share with a group. Many companies use newsletters, blogsĀ and wikis internally and externally to tell employees and clients what is going on. How effective do you think these tools are?
