Buy Anything You Can On eBay except iPhone Earbuds

July 13, 2009 Personality on the Side 2 Comments

iphone earbuds

I buy alot of things on eBay. I am proud of my perfect buying and selling reputation. I have never had a problem buying anything and I have never questioned the authenticity of anything I bought…until now.

A few weeks ago, my earbuds with a mic for my iPhone broke (after a year?)- guess I am pretty hard on them. Instead of paying $30 at the Apple Store, I decided to “save money” and buy them on eBay where many vendors were selling them for $10 including shipping.

All of the sellers said they were “New In Box” earbuds for the iPhone. I ordered one, then another, then a third (yup, I spend $30 so far) and none of them were real Apple earbuds even though the box and product looked identical to the real thing (they are both made in China). The sellers claim they are real…

So I knuckled under tonight and placed my order for $30 for the real thing. I will continue to buy from eBay, just not earbuds.

Did you report the sellers to eBay for selling “fake” products? Or leave poor comments?

They all swear its the real thing!
