On the Radio: Office Depot’s Self Bailout and a Start Up Guide for Women

There are a lot of companies out there that target owners of small business. I have always been a big fan of Office Depot and they are now running a new contest to help small business owners out.

My first guest on the radio today, Steve Strauss who is the senior business writer for USATODAY.com and his column, Ask an Expert, is one of the most highly syndicated business columns in the world.  Steve is also the small biz spokesman for Office Depot (which is the job I always wanted) Steve and and I talked about:

• The Office Depot Small Business Self Bailout Contest  where they are giving away $2,000 to 500 businesses.
• Veteran Entrepreneurship – With 22 percent (about 5 million) of veterans either purchasing, starting, or at looking at starting a new business, there is plenty activity in this sector.

 I always said that I had an easier job going to work than staying home. At least people at work pretended to listen to me. Home-based businesses are estimated to be a $427 billion-a-year industry. In recent studies it was found that as many as 105 million people in North America alone were working at home.
