Eliot Spitzer Press Release

Barry Moltz, a leading business consultant for hundreds of corporations, government agencies, and prestigious universities, including Capital One, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Federal Reserve Bank, and Harvard Business School, has an interesting perspective on Eliot Spitzer’s situation: Moltz believes that his recent troubles should not necessarily dictate the end of his public service.

“The first thing he should do is to forget the fairy tale because our careers are not linear,” Moltz says. “We all screw up sometimes and bad times happen. It is fine to grieve failures, even wallow for a bit in the grief, if you need to, but eventually, we have to bounce to the next decision we have to make. Spitzer’s resignation announcement and his articulation of his intent to continue on as a public servant in some way is in line with what Barry Moltz describes as the “bounce” process.

Barry Moltz is immediately available to discuss why it is sometimes best to embrace failure, even when it’s painful, and why it is important that we all create our own brands of success. We look forward to hearing from you soon about the possibility of an interview.
