no-uber-buenos-aires

Well it seems that two things are true in the world of travel.

1. Everyone is an Uber fan.

2. I was the last person to use the Uber app.

Now I will admit that the taxi companies actually created Uber with their blatant disregard for customer service. I remember for years when I would telephone for a taxi and then they would never show it. This frustration plus GPS technology created ride sharing services.

But after trying Uber six times, I am still not a fan. Here is why:

1. They can’t find my location and don’t call to get help.

2. They get lost when trying to get me somewhere. This is even to the airport in major cities.

3. They have overcharged me. One driver did not end the ride until 15 after he left me off to increase his fee. I complained and Uber did provide a refund.

4. They canceled my ride. Some drivers contact me to find out where I am going. If it is a short distance, they cancel my ride and I have to get another Uber.

5. Drivers are inconsistent. Some of their cars smell.

6. They rate me down. Apparently, Uber drivers rate customers. One driver gave me a low rating since I ended my ride prematurely since my flight was canceled.

Don’t get me wrong. I think the convenience of ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft are the future. I just think there is still a long way to go to a consistent customer experience.

More Uber driver training and mystery shoppers would help.
