Clover Flex POS

Whether customers are buying from a quick service restaurant, food truck, or other retail company, they never want to wait to pay. The days of them standing in line in front of a cash register is over. In addition, for the small business owner, they need to spend time serving their customers and not trying to set up a point of sale (POS) device. They also need to have easy access to information to tell them what is selling and what does not.

As a result, First Data, a global leader in POS commerce-enabling technology, launched Clover Flex, a smart payment terminal designed to fit as a handheld device or on the counter top. It harnesses the power of the Clover platform and can accept PIN entry, NFC, mag stripe transactions, and electronic gift cards. It can also process EMV chip cards in less than three seconds so customers do not need to wait! Business owners using Clover Flex POS can also monitor sales remotely on their mobile device through the Clover dashboard. This provides them with the data they need to grow their companies.

I recently worked with First Data to train food truck owners to use the Clover Flex  in a pilot during the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Savannah, Georgia. This event annually draws nearly half a million visitors from around the world. The festival’s food truck park was outfitted with Clover Flex POS devices, allowing the vendors to accept non-cash payments for the first time in the history of the festival. Watch them here!

One of the food truck owners I met was Jack Jackson, owner of 6 Gear Dog House food truck (featured in the picture above). He said that “Clover Flex was a huge help to us in terms of keeping our line moving quickly, and serving as many people as possible during the St. Patrick’s Day festival. It was easy to use, too!”
