Are you frustrated by the lack of opportunities that come from handing out business cards?
Are you looking for ways for your business to stand out when meeting with potential clients and partners?
SwivelCard may be the solution, and an important tool for small businesses.
SwivelCard is a business card with added functionality; it doubles as a USB device. By folding along the perforations of the card, it can be inserted into a computer’s USB port.
According to Businessweek, SwivelCard was created by Andrew DePaula, president and CEO of IntelliPaper, a five-year-old startup in Spokane, WA. The company has patents on the technology used to print USB drives on paper.
The USB functionality gives SwivelCard 3 important advantages over traditional business cards:
1. It’s interactive – Once inserted into the computer, it can launch content such as a web page, a résumé, photo album, or PowerPoint presentation, among other content.
2. It’s customizable – The content on each SwivelCard can be customized for different recipients. Thanks to the unique IP address of each SwivelCard, users can change the information on the card after it has been given out.
3. It’s data-rich – Users can track whether recipients of their SwivelCard have taken a look at it via a web portal that provides data on when and where it was used.
A set of 100 SwivelCards costs $219. For an additional $50, the cards come imbedded with a near-field communications (NFC) chip, which allows the card to upload wirelessly to a compatible tablet or smartphone when waved near one. More information is available on IntelliPaper’s webite.
