I was in Kansas City yesterday to participate with the Kauffman Foundation to help with their FastTrac Program. It is a series of classes that helps current and future entrepreneurs.

On my way back, I was delayed at the airport for 3 hours due to Midwest thunderstorms. This is me waiting at the airport by cell phone camera.

As a result, I got to know the people on the plan I was sitting next to fairly well. To my left, was an ROTC grad, now Second Lieutenant in the Army stationed in Kansas City. She was on leave and going to visit her husband in upper Minnesota. She enlisted to help pay for her college.

On my right, was a former Air Force Major, turned airline pilot turned mortician. Seems he was called back to his family business in Virginia a decade ago so he had to give up flying for a living. Big career change.

So, during a rather turbulent flight, I had the Lieutenant on my left and the Mortician on my right. What did that mean? Discipline and Death? Sounds like a punch line to a joke.
