Today we talk about what of the first problems facing small business today. The one that keeps us up at night- yup- I am talking about our relationship with our bank. The old joke about banks was they always gave you an umbrella when it was sunny and take it away when it is raining. Many small biz owners are up nights wondering when they will get that call from the bank pulling their line of credit. Once a proud job in our society- fairly or unfairly, bankers have become the scapegoat of our time. Many of us are frustrated because they got us into this mess and now they are the ones seemingly preventing us from getting out. Lots of hostility- what makes me especially mad was when I was in San Antonio Texas a few months back and there was a big banner outside one bank that read- “We make business loans!”

But love them or leave them – we need to figure out to work with banks and that is what we are focused today on.
