I gotta say these rules sound right but grim. I’m a succesful serial entrepreneur myself, and I ask you this: What’s the point of creating a new business if it doesn’t make you, your employees AND your customers happy?
So with that in mind, here’s my rephrasing of your 10 tips:
1. Every Business is About Making People Happy.
Find the People that will Pay For It (customers) and those who yearn to make it happen (employees).
2. Ideas are everything.
Even the ideas you don’t follow through on are fun and energizing to develop.
3. People are the Only Thing Business is All About.
4. Sorry, There are Absolutely No Right Answers In Business:
Whatever makes you, your people, your customers and you community a little happier is right.
5. Having Your Own Business is fun.
It’s A Rollercoaster That isn’t Fairly Built – if you expect it to be. If you expect it to be fun, it’s more likely to be.
6. As an Entrepreneur, You can make a Difference in This World:
By spreading happiness.
7. Know the Numbers, and that they Lie.
Metrics are often meaningless. Follow your bliss.
8. Fun is King.
You go out of Business when You Run out of Fun.
9. Focus. Focus. Morph.
Focus on a Competitive Sustainable Advantage: Create a great workplace
10. Go Forth and Smile.
Every Business’ Strength is happy people. Good people treat customers well.
