Now that Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are over, it’s a back to work Monday…or is it?
Today is referred to as Cyber Monday: The day that we go back to work and use the company’s Internet connection to get online sale deals. The fact is that even though all of your employees have an internet connection at home, they will be looking for deals online on Monday because that is when the retailers are promoting them.
What can you do as a business owner?
1. Accept that your employees will be surfing the web looking for deals. The attraction to find a bargain is too great this time of year. Its borders are fantastical.
2. Don’t try to prevent them from surfing looking for deals, but make a game of it. Depending on your business, set up a special time each hour to surf for deals. Give out a prize for the person that finds the best deal.
3. Set up the Cyber Monday Computer. An alternative is to not allow surfing on employee computers, but set up a separate bank just for shopping!
4. Offer a deal of your own. If you are in the kind of business that lends itself, create your own Cyber Monday Deal.
What is your game plan?
