Time Magazine reported that the new "Hug Shirt" as one of the best inventions of 2006. Designed by Cute Circuit, it simulates the experience of being hugged by someone. It is activated by cell phone and "The shirt then re-creates that person’s distinctive cuddle, replicating his or her warmth, pressure, duration and even heartbeat."
To me, this is absurd. Gadgets and electronics have made us so connected, but they also separate us apart. However, there will never (I hope) be any replacement in business or socially to being with another person, no matter how good this shirt gets.
I absolutely concur! Nothing will replace the human touch. We might use from time to time replacements, but it will never be the real thing. Talk about video conferences… Can you really get a feel through these?
And what about guacamole? Read Seth Godin on that matter:

I also agree. You can simulate senses such as touch, taste, smell, but until someone figures out how to simulate emotions within the shirt that hug because it wants to hug and not because of a phone call, it’s mechanical engineering and not relational engineering.
I absolutly disagree this is a cool little invention for couples because if lets say one of them has to go away then they could get the other a shirt like this so that whenever they need comfort they just activate the shirt witch then simulates the warmth of the other and gives comfort i do not see how you all could believe this invention is Absurd!
