I remember in the early 2000’s messengers on bikes carrying orange bags (or Kozmonauts as they were called) delivering items in less than an hour. I write about my experience with Kozmo (a good one) in my second book. On a recent flight, I watched the 2002 documentary called "e-dreams" about their rise and fall during the internet bubble.
What was most interesting is how quickly things changed for them. With alot of fanfare, Joseph Park announced the company’s IPO in April 2000. A few weeks later, the market crashed. Three months later he was no longer CEO. A year later, the company was out of business. Investors lost $280M.
