The attitude toward fear in business is silly. We constantly tell people that they should not be afraid. This is just plain foolish. I believe that it is okay to be afraid, but then find a way to work through the fear so you can do it anyway. Fear can be a motivator to move and get things done.
Ishita Gupta started a new magazine this past week called Fearless. She states the importance of this magazine is:
a) To talk openly and honestly about fear. It’s taboo and we’re ashamed to ever admit it.
b.) To continue being storytellers. People learn from stories and personal experience, and while general advice is great, we often remember points or tips that people have been through in their own lives and touched us personally.
c.) To show that even big CEO’s and leaders/innovators in business and the arts feel fear. it is truly universal so what’s the harm in being honest about it.
d.) To add to the growing list of resources for people dealing with challenges in their lives in a meaningful way.
e.) To design a beautiful product that helps others and makes money at the same time.

You’re on top of things, Barry! I was just re-purposing one of my essays from this semester to submit to them.
