I talked with Jim Melloan, the Project Manager, for the Inc. 500 today. They have expanded the list to include 5,000 companies for 2007. While the top 500 companies on the list will still be known as the Inc. 500, and featured in the September issue of Inc., the entire Inc. 5000 will be listed online. Also, and this hasn’t been announced yet, but it seems like Inc will be inviting these companies to join a social networking site like Linkedin or My Space. The deadline for application submission is March 1, 2007. All the companies will be invited to the first Inc 5000 conference in Chicago in September.
Alumni of the list include Microsoft, Donimo’s, Timberland, and E-Trade.
