I get handed alot of business cards. Some of them are plain, conservative, outrageous or fancy. Just like me, you have seen all types. But I was handed a business card at a conference recently that was a bit different. This man was looking for work and besides the usually name, phone and email address, the back of the card was a bit different. It read:
“Reduced Manufacturing Costs by 33%”
“Improved Distribution productivity by 32%”
“Grew Revenue from $78M to $300M”
“Reduced Avg Order Processing Time from 77 to 22 Minutes”
This struck me kind of strange. On one hand, if you are looking for a job, it is good to have your accomplishments up front when in you make your first impression. But at the same time, are we, as a prospective employee, just a series of numbers?

I think it is fine, it is a starting point to talking. So many people have cards that say nothing, really, why not stimulate some “so tell me about this reduced…”
