I got asked a question while I was in Boston a few weeks back if I thought it was wise to run two businesses at the same time. We entrepreneurs are great starters yet many of us like myslef are not great finishers. Being happily successful at business requires focus in a world of so many choices. I believe we need to focus on only one business at a time until we can get someone to run and grow that business. Only then, should we take on another business. The exception to this rule may be if the businesses are somehow related to each other.

After my recent talk where I discussed this point of view, one entrepreneur who runs an IT company came up to me and said "I guess I will sell the laundermat!".
