I always tell the businesses I work with and speak to that they do not charge enough money for their services. Now a great article from CNN Money touts the same thing. Typically, we undervalue what we offer and small businesses are afraid that they will lose their larger clients by raising their prices. This is simply not true. Pricing is alot less elastic than we think. People will stay with you if you raise your prices as a result of the value you offer. Do not be afraid. You are worth it and it will add to the bottom line!

I couldn’t agree with you more on this point. I can’t stand seeing people work themselves to death just to break even. Raise your prices, work less, and profit more. Let the simple economics of supply and demand do its job.

You are so right – I realized this summer that although I was selling alot of our soap, at the end of the day, I was covering my expenses and very little else.
A month ago I raised my prices and now not only am I selling more of our products, but I am thoroughly enjoying the labor as now I am getting PAID for my work
