A nationally known Venture Capitalist from DFJ has started a great blog to show entrepreneurs on what goes on behind the sceens. While he does not name himself (it’s confidential!), he says:
"I am a card carrying member of the dark side. I entered the venture business in 1995 and invest primarily in IT and business service opportunities. I live in Windy and work as a partner at Draper Fisher Jurvetson Portage Venture Partners. Previously, I worked at the Boston Consulting Group, Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust in merchant banking. I have an MBA from Kellogg and a BA from Williams."
He states the purpose of his blog is:
"To encourage dialog between entrepreneurs and the proverbial dark side. For many entrepreneurs, the venture world is needlessly opaque and confusing. Venture principles, processes and norms are relatively straight forward, but not commonly understood. With a Windy City twist, this blog will try to shed light on the world "behind the curtain". "
