These days everybody has a stimulus plan.
President Obama works on one for the country. Automakers advertise theirs to us on every commercial. Mark Cuban, famed businessman and owner of the Dallas Mavericks came up with his own. He states on his blog if you post “your business plan here on my blog where I expect other people can and will comment on it. I also expect that other people will steal the idea and use it elsewhere. That is the idea. Call this an open source funding environment. If its a good idea and worth funding, we want it replicated elsewhere. The idea is not just to help you, but to figure out how to help the economy through hard work and ingenuity. If you come up with the idea and get funding, you have a head start. If you execute better than others, you could possibly make money at it. As you will see from the rules below, these are going to be businesses that are mostly driven by sweat equity.”
Every American needs to come up with their own personal stimulus plan, that is what will they be doing to help the economy? This is what I have done so far:
1. Paying it forward. Giving free consulting hours to people that are unable to afford my time.
2. Being the bank for clients that are unable to pay me. This is a rule that I have violated for the first time. I am allowing extended terms for some clients who are a short term financial bind.
3. Sending free copies of my first book about starting a business. Everyone can use advice and help.
4. Giving away my business library. I receive books everyday. Once I have read them, I want to pass them on. I have been mailing out books to people that have requested them daily.
What are you doing to stimulate the economy?
