Sometimes, crazy customer service is about caring and being part of the community. Case in point, this morning, I was waiting in the pouring rain for a taxi while on the way to the airport on a corner where my dry cleaners is. As I was waiting, the owner of my dry cleaners comes out of his store, recognizes me and offers me an umbrella for the rain. I politely decline but it was a great customer service. He was trying to help me as one of his customers in general not specifically for dry cleaning. This is what I call community customer service since it tries to help you as a person as a whole not just for a specific business purpose. Did it cement me more closely to my dry cleaners? absolutely!
