Everytime I visit New York City, I am reminded that there is no place like this city. I was in here for a few days of work. It’s international flavor from the people on the streets far surpasses any other place in the U.S. It amazes me how crowded the city is. I think they have more taxis here than every other place on earth combined! I went to a Citibank to get money. There were 17 ATMs with a long waiting line that formed the way you might have when you are waiting at Disney World.
I stayed at a new high tech hotel called The Alex Hotel in Midtown. First, in order to get to your room by elevator, you need to enter on a keypad the floor you want to go to. (what happened to just pressing the up button?). My tiny room had everything you might want except it was crammed into the size of a walk in closet. I am not complaining because it did have WIFI and high speed internet service. What more could I want? The room not only has one plasma TV, but a second one in the bathroom. Also, as I sat at the bar, where else (besides Paris) could I order a bottle of water for $7.00?
