On the radio today (Episode #30), we talked with people who learned about business from being in the music business. I talked with the founder of Karmaloop, Greg Selkoe who received an undergraduate degree at Rollins College in Florida and went on to receive a masters in public policy from Harvard University. Greg started Karmaloop in his parents basement in Jamaica Plain. In less than 10 years Karmaloop has become the largest online street retailer in the world. In 2009 sales will be $65 million. I discussed with Greg, how he mixes music, online retail and media to be successful. Listen now!
Allison Bliss is founder a consulting firm and has wokred with Bobby McFerrin, Bill Graham, Francis Ford Coppola, and Robin Williams. She talked to me about how success in business parallels music- practicing, symphony of players, and auditioning to make the sale. Listen now!
Dayna Steele was finally able to join us next. She was on of the top rock radio personalities in the United States. She interviewed such stars like Mick Jagger, Sting, Van Halen, David Crosby, Aerosmith. She was nominated as Local Radio Personality of the Year by Billboard Magazine and was included in Talkers Magazine’s “100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts”. She was named one of the “35 People Who Inspire Us” by Reader’s Digest. Most interestingly, she appear naked (and pregnant) on the cover of Health and Fitness Magazine. We discussed what she learned from working with all thes rock stars. Listen now!
My last guest was Grammy award winning musician Eric Tingstad . We talked about:

What is that allows him to be creative and fulfill his business responsibilities at the same time?
