Every year, I interview about 150 people on The Small Business Radio Show. For 2022, here are some of my favorites (From most recent to oldest).
Deb Liu: As the CEO of Ancestry.com. she lays out the new rules for women at work and how to find your voice.
Mike Evans: He founded Grubhub and took it public. What a story of the American entrepreneur’s dream!
John Leonard: He is the subject of the Netflix documentary “Hey Pepsi, Where is My Harrier Jet?” where he tried to redeem his Pepsi points for a promised jet in 1995.
Frank O’Connell: He was the president of Reebok, HBO and Indian Motorcycles. He shares the secret to coming into a company as the top leader and the trick to getting everyone on the same page.
Tom Herman: I was a huge fan of the movie “Startup.com” circa 2001. He was one of the partners and tells the story of the thrill and heartbreak of growing a company very fast.
Omar Zenhom: As the host of the top podcast, “$100 MBA Show”, he talks about why you don’t need a fancy MBA to be an entrepreneur. ( I went to business school at Northwestern!)
Lisa Baker: At Synchrony, the financial services company, Lisa was one of only nine Black female executives among more than 16,000 employees. She talks about the all important topic of financial illiteracy which is rampant among small business owners.
Gary Weiss: He wrote the book on one of my favorite grifters, “Crazy Eddie” Antar and covers his rise and fall as the “retail gangster”.
Nicholas Donofrio: He is the man that changed IBM to become one of the most innovative companies in the world over his 44-year career.
Zoe Chance: I loved her book, “Influence is Your Superpower”. She tells us the magic question to get someone to do what you want: “What will it take?”
David Gelles: The New York Times reporter asks the question: “Should we really be imitating superstar CEO’s?” Yes, I am referring to you, Elon Musk.
John Lee Dumas: or JLD as people call him. He founded the popular podcast, “Entrepreneurs on Fire”. He shares what it takes to reach uncommon success based on his own experience and interviews with thousands of entrepreneurs.
Benjamin Alexander: In a country with no snow, he talks about how he became Jamaica’s first Olympic Alpine Skier (and what it’s like to compete at the Olympics when you have no chance to win!)
James White: As CEO of Jamba Juice, he advocates for anti-racist leadership and how to transform corporate culture in a race-conscious world.
