I will board about 100 planes this year and for a person like me who does not like to fly, that’s alot. I am convinced that there are only two things that cause turbulence:
1. The pilot gets on the loud speaker and announces "Well, it looks like it is going to be a smooth flight today so I am turning the fasten seat belt sign off"
2. The guy sitting next to you says when you take off "What a beautiful day for flying!"
Both happened on a flight to Connecticut on Friday and let’s put it this way. It was so bumpy that I had to hold on to the arms of my chairs so my head would not hit the overhead bins.
There were 3 nuns on our flight and I asked them what they do when its getd bumpy. One replied that she prays to St. Michael to fly the plane straight. This sounded like a good solution to me in addition to the music on my ipod that gets me through…
