I am speaking at the University of Tasmania this summer (Their winter) and they are currently using the book in their class. Their professor writes:

"my students have been absolutely impressed by your book. They are finding our reflective discussions a dose of reality that they can’t get enough off. As one of the girls said last week, reading through this has taken the glitter away from entrepreneurship, but I’m glad".

No one has been turned off the idea of starting their business, they have all just adjusted their expectations of what may lay ahead. Our discussion last week regarding moral issues was fantastic, i.e. would you have banked the check or temporarily brought the office furniture? it was just so engaging.

I will be using this book from here on in, can’t wait to have a look at the next one. Without having to resort to my own war stories, its great to be able to give the students an insight into the emotional journey of starting up and running a business.

At the end of each workshop my students complete a reflection journal, and comment on how they engage in the discussion of your book. At the end of the semester, I will package some of these comments together for you, it may help you to get the book used at other universities, not as a textbook per se, but as a mechanism for reflective thinking, something that is sorely lacking in many business schools."
