I spoke tonight at an awards dinner for entrepreneurs in a small town on the border of Virginia and North Carolina .It was a party thrown by the entrepreneurship program at Danville Community College. Danville
I admire their spirit and they realize that they’re on a five to ten year plan. This is the time where their planting seeds which will bear fruit in years to come. They honored 4 different entrepreneurs tonight who had overcome the extensive lots to grow sustain their companies. All were great stories. Tomorrow when I talk to a younger crowd – high school students interested in starting a business of their own!
is a town that’s involved in a lot of change. It primarily was a tobacco and textile town but now that has all left. The local community college and civic leaders are encouraging people who can’t find jobs to get the skills to start businesses of their own — in other words to become entrepreneurs.
