I arrived in Melbourne, Australia (it is pronouned Melbin) after a flight that lasted a lifetime (over 15 hours from LA). I am thankful for sleeping aids, movies and iPods. I am a keynote speaker today at the World Conference International Council for Small Business. The conference pulls together entrepreneurial academics from all over the world. It is conforting that there is so much focus on helping small business. I speak at 4:00 PM local time (1:00 AM Chicago time) and needless to say, the 15 hour time difference takes getting used to…
Melbourne is fairly cold this time of year. 35- 50 degrees and being so far south, the days are short. The city is very European with trams and driving on the different side of the road. I have yet to have anyone call me mate…but I still hope to put "a shrimp on the barbie". I have been told that this is wrong since shrimp are too small to but on a barbie- they would probably grill prawns.
This has got to be the best and most informative post I have read in awlihe. Everyone has responded with such great insight and information. I have struggled with my pricing as I feel it is too low on most items but I am trying to compete with some artists who are selling similar items for no more than the cost of materials! I wish all artists would unite and agree to sell items for a price including materials and labor! Caitlin of Rebound Design also had great advice on keeping lower priced items to attract traffic. All around great advice! Thank you.
