Olympics in the Raw

I read in a recent travel magazine three facts that were interesting about the first Olympics:

1. Athletes competed in the nude.
2. Hand to hand combat events permitted strangling and finger breaking. Sorry, eye gouging was out.
3. Punishment for a false start was being beaten by an official whip- bearer.
