I boarded an airplane yesterday for the short trip to this beautiful island of Tasmania. When I was invited to speak here at the University, I was especially interested since they use my book as the book for teaching entrepreneurship in several classes.
Today, I spoke to students in the morning who had been using the book in their class and then to 125 business people over lunch. It was a really a thrill for me to speak at this business lunch. Here I was, an American, 10,000 miles from home in another country and my message was just as relevant to these Tasmanian business people as it has been in any other city in the U.S.
This supports the idea that I always say that entrepreneurs around the world are all the same and we all share a common experience.
I just searched for Tassie bolgs and this hit came up. Interestingly, my son (about to go to Uni) and I were researching business/IS units on the UniTas site only yesterday. One of our comments was “How can you teach entrepreurship?” You either have it or you don’t. I will read more on your blog and be happy to be proven wrong.
However, when I think back on things like Leadership development courses, those that prospered were those that had “it” anyway. Perhaps enrolling in such a course is a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy?
Glad you thought Tassie was beautiful.
