I went to a dinner tonight with a group of people who are thinking of starting an angel group here in Anchorage. I met amazing people that come from all over the country and world who have really fell in love with Alaska. They want to see more entrepreneurship develop here that is not part of the oil industry or the government. After meeting them, I have know doubt they will be successful.
One woman I met was Mary Quin. She was kidnapped in Yemen while on vacation about 5 years back. At the time, she was a Xerox executive. She told me how it changed her life. Her book on it is coming out this fall.
