I was speaking at the Angel Capital Association Conference today, and one of my favorite business people (VCs) was there: Matt McCall. When Matt talks, I usually write: Today he said,
"If it seems like a stupid idea, it probably is a stupid idea."

This is one of the stupider things I have read lately. I am sure that the VCs who declined to fund Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Cisco, Intel, Dell, were all telling themselves “If it seems like a stupid idea, it probably is a stupid idea”. If good ideas were obvious to everyone, nobody would be able to make money on them, and they would not be considered good ideas.
