I sent out a tip last week on how to consistently stay in touch with suspects, prospects, and your network. Patricia Rossi, America’s Etiquette and Protocol Coach, told me that something big was missing: the handwritten note. She believes that in the age of digital everything, we still need physical notes: Patricia says, “Notes are tactile. You touch them, visually you see them, and emotionally, you read them.”
I then asked her where she finds the time. She advised to do 3 notes with 3 lines every Monday for 10 minutes. Here are the 3 lines she suggests:
Dear Dan.
Line 1. Just touching in to say hi.
Line 2. Hope your trip to _____was relaxing and fun.
Line 3. On my way to ______, wish me luck.
Talk Soon,
Best,
Barry
As Patricia says, “…and just like that you’ve touched in, made a deposit, and inched closer in building a solid relationship.”
Have you tried personal notes, and if so what have your results been?
