Unfortunately, this past month, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch was put on “hiatus” this month. I am not sure what that means in television lingo but it seems like it has been canceled. Brian Steel, vice president of CNBC public relations, said the reason was:
“Given current economic conditions the feeling was that now is not the right time to do a ‘success’ show five days a week”.
Huh? So when should we have a success show? When people are all making tons of money and have not need to watch?
I was a big fan of the show having been on it several times. I think that Donny brand of success was inspiring and realistic.

I signed the petition. And of course GE doesn’t want this show on the air – why would they want to promote entrepreneurship when they are pursuing tax money like every other giant, when the reality is tax incentives to entrepreneurs to hire people will be the true way to save this economy, not bailing out clueless giants.

It’s crazy to me that they’d take this show down today. Now is when people need this the most. Is it more likely that they don’t want to pay Donny or something?
I wonder if he’ll just take it online and become bigger than the station and own the whole thing? That’s what I would do.
It seems to me that this would be exactly the perfect time to air this show. People need to hear about success and how they can also make it even in an economic crisis.

I agree.Not sure what CNBC was thinking unless there are other reasons that are still buried.
I guess that CNBC had their OWN BIG IDEA! Too bad that it appears to be short-sighted..The challenge in front of us all now,as individuals and as entrepeneurs, is to re-define, and refine the meaning of SUCCESS-maybe create a whole new paradigm,even.It seems the universe is giving us this giant “WAKE-UP” CALL—-This break can provide Donny the chance to evolve,observe what is “wanted and needed now”and to emerge with nenewed vivion so that he can make the BIG DIFFERENCE and continue to contribute to people n whatever format comes next! I am certain,given his finely-tuned creativity,passion,and desire- he will accomplish nothing less!
